Related Product Information for anti-CFHR4 antibody
CFHR4 (Complement Factor H-related protein 4; also FHR4B) is a 45kD glycoprotein member of the factor H-related protein family. It is synthesized by hepatocytes and circulates in plasma. FHR4(B) binds to C3b and C3d. It also binds to native (pentameric) C-reactive protein (pCRP), and is suggested to promote pCRP binding to necrotic cells surfaces, thus promoting cell clearance. Mature human FHR4B is 312aa in length. It contains five Sushi/SCR domains, the first of which (aa23-85) is associated with pCRP binding. There is a circulating, 86kD alternative splice form termed FHR4A that shows an insertion of 247aa after Asp92. This is considered the dominant isoform, and appears to show the same activity as FHR4B. Over (aa41 -331, human FHR4B shares 61% aa identity with a related molecule found in rat.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the complement factor H (CFH) gene family, and encodes one of the 5 CFH-related (CFHR) proteins. These 5 genes are closely linked to the CFH gene on chromosome 1q31-q32. The CFHRs are secreted plasma proteins synthesized primarily by the hepatocytes, and composed of highly-related short consensus repeats (SCRs). This protein enhances the cofactor activity of CFH, and is involved in complement regulation. It can associate with lipoproteins and may play a role in lipid metabolism. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms (varying in the number of SCRs) have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Product Notes

The CFHR4 cfhr4 (Catalog #AAA641964) is an Antibody produced from Sheep and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CFHR4 (Complement Factor H-related Protein 4, FHR-4, H Factor-like Protein 4, H-Factor-like 4, H36, CFHL, CFHL4, CFHL4P, CFHR4P, FHR4, HFL4) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CFHR4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Western Blot: 1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CFHR4 cfhr4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CFHR4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
