Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Anti-MLF1IP / PBIP1 antibody IHC of human prostate. Immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue after heat-induced antigen retrieval. Antibody concentration 10 ug/ml.)
Western Blot (WB)
(Anti-MLF1IP Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot of affinity purified anti-MLF1IP antibody shows detection of MLF1IP (arrowhead) in HeLa cells transfected with ZZ-tagged MLF1IP (Lane 1). Lane 2 is lysate from non-transfected HeLa cells, and Lane 3 is lysate from HeLa cells containing a knock-out mutation for PBIP1/MLF1IP. Personal Communication, Kyung S. Lee, CCR-NCI, Bethesda, MD.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The centromere is a specialized chromatin domain, present throughout the cell cycle, that acts as a platform on which the transient assembly of the kinetochore occurs during mitosis. All active centromeres are characterized by the presence of long arrays of nucleosomes in which CENPA (MIM 117139) replaces histone H3 (see MIM 601128). MLF1IP, or CENPU, is an additional factor required for centromere assembly (Foltz et al., 2006 [PubMed 16622419]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Uniprot Description
CENPU: Component of the CENPA-NAC (nucleosome-associated) complex, a complex that plays a central role in assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation. The CENPA-NAC complex recruits the CENPA-CAD (nucleosome distal) complex and may be involved in incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres. Plays an important role in the correct PLK1 localization to the mitotic kinetochores. A scaffold protein responsible for the initial recruitment and maintenance of the kinetochore PLK1 population until its degradation. Involved in transcriptional repression. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The CENPU cenpu (Catalog #AAA240746) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human CENPU / MLF1IP reacts with Bovine, Chimpanzee, Dog, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CENPU / MLF1IP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), ELISA (EIA). ELISA (1:5000 - 1:25000), IHC-P (10 ug/ml), IP, WB (1:500 - 1:2000) Usage: Immunohistochemistry: was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antib.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CENPU cenpu for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CENPU / MLF1IP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
