Related Product Information for anti-CBX4 antibody
E3 SUMO-protein ligase which facilitates SUMO1 conjugation by UBE2I. Component of the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1 complex, a complex required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development. PcG PRC1 complex acts via chromatin remodeling and modification of histones; it mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A 'Lys-119', rendering chromatin heritably changed in its expressibility.

Uniprot Description

CBX4: E3 SUMO-protein ligase which facilitates SUMO1 conjugation by UBE2I. Involved in the sumoylation of HNRNPK, a p53/TP53 transcriptional coactivator, hence indirectly regulates p53/TP53 transcriptional activation resulting in p21/CDKN1A expression. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; SUMO ligase; EC 6.3.2.-

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q25.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nuclear speck; PcG protein complex; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; enzyme binding; single-stranded RNA binding; SUMO binding; phosphoprotein binding; chromatin binding; transcription corepressor activity; methylated histone residue binding; ligase activity

Biological Process: protein sumoylation; transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; chromatin modification; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The CBX4 cbx4 (Catalog #AAA6281212) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CBX4, NT (CBX4, E3 SUMO-protein ligase CBX4, Chromobox protein homolog 4, Polycomb 2 homolog) (APC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CBX4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CBX4 cbx4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CBX4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
