CASP6: Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase in vitro, as well as lamins. Overexpression promotes programmed cell death. Heterotetramer that consists of two anti-parallel arranged heterodimers, each one formed by a 18 kDa (p18) and a 11 kDa (p11) subunit. Interacts with BIRC6/bruce. Activation is suppressed by phosphorylation at Ser-257. Belongs to the peptidase C14A family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

AAA Biotech's Caspase-6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western blotting (0.5-4 ug/ml), and Immunohistochemistry (5 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Jurkat cell lysate, mouse intestine, and rat kidney tissue lysate can be used as a positive controls. The antibody detects a full length (35 kDa) and the cleaved fragment (18 kDa) of caspase-6. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Casp6 casp6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
