Related Product Information for anti-CAMKK1/2 antibody
Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase belonging to a proposed calcium-triggered signaling cascade involved in a number of cellular processes. Isoform 1, isoform 2 and isoform 3 phosphorylate CAMK1 and CAMK4. Isoform 3 phosphorylates CAMK1D. Isoform 4, isoform 5 and isoform 6 lacking part of the calmodulin-binding domain are inactive. Efficiently phosphorylates 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) trimer, including that consisting of PRKAA1, PRKAB1 and PRKAG1. This phosphorylation is stimulated in response to Ca (2+) signals (By similarity). Seems to be involved in hippocampal activation of CREB1 (By similarity). May play a role in neurite growth. Isoform 3 may promote neurite elongation, while isoform 1 may promoter neurite branching.

NCBI Description

The product of this gene belongs to the Serine/Threonine protein kinase family, and to the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily. This protein plays a role in the calcium/calmodulin-dependent (CaM) kinase cascade. Three transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CAMKK1: a calcium/calmodulin-dependent S/T protein kinase of the CAMKK family. Phosphorylates CAMK1, CAMK1D, CAMK1G and CAMK4. Involved in regulating cell apoptosis. Promotes cell survival by phosphorylating AKT1/PKB that inhibits pro-apoptotic BAD/Bcl2-antagonist of cell death. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. The autoinhibitory domain overlaps with the calmodulin binding region and may be involved in intrasteric autoinhibition. Binding of calmodulin may releave intrasteric autoinhibition. May be regulated through phosphorylation by CAMK1 and CAMK4. Appears to be autophosphorylated in a Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent manner. Phosphorylation of Ser-458 is blocked upon binding to Ca2+/calmodulin.

The Phospho-CAMKK1/2 (Ser458/Ser495) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat Predicted Reactivity: Pig (100%), Bovine (100%), Sheep (100%), Rabbit (100%), Dog (100%), Chicken (100%), Xenopus (100%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CAMKK1/2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Peptide ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:1000-3000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 Peptide ELISA: 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CAMKK1/2 camkk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CAMKK1/2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
