Related Product Information for anti-CACNG1 antibody
Voltage-dependent calcium channels are essential for the release of neurotransmitters. L-type (long lasting current) voltage-dependent calcium channels are composed of four subunits: an alpha1 subunit, a beta subunit, a gamma subunit and an alpha2delta subunit. The beta subunit is encoded by four genes, designated beta1-beta4, all of which contribute to the diversity of calcium currents and are involved in membrane trafficking of the alpha1 subunit. L-type Ca ++ CP gamma1, also known as CACNLG or CACNG1, is a 222 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the PMP-22/EMP/MP20 family. Expressed in skeletal muscle, L-type Ca ++ CP gamma1 is a subunit of the dihydropyridine (DHP) sensitive calcium channel and may play a role in excitation-contraction coupling. L-type Ca++ CP gamma1 is considered a novel marker for malignant hyperthermia susceptibility (MHS), an autosomal dominant disorder of skeletal muscle which manifests as a life-threatening hypermetabolic crisis triggered by commonly used inhalation anaesthetics and depolarizing muscle relaxants.

NCBI Description

Voltage-dependent calcium channels are composed of five subunits. The protein encoded by this gene represents one of these subunits, gamma, and is one of two known gamma subunit proteins. This particular gamma subunit is part of skeletal muscle 1,4-dihydropyridine-sensitive calcium channels and is an integral membrane protein that plays a role in excitation-contraction coupling. This gene is part of a functionally diverse eight-member protein subfamily of the PMP-22/EMP/MP20 family and is located in a cluster with two family members that function as transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory proteins (TARPs). [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Uniprot Description

CACNG1: This protein is a subunit of the dihydropyridine (DHP) sensitive calcium channel. Plays a role in excitation-contraction coupling. The skeletal muscle DHP-sensitive Ca(2+) channel may function only as a multiple subunit complex. Belongs to the PMP-22/EMP/MP20 family. CACNG subfamily.

Product Notes

The CACNG1 cacng1 (Catalog #AAA3005964) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CACNG1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CACNG1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CACNG1 cacng1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CACNG1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
