Related Product Information for anti-ATAT1 antibody
Specifically acetylates 'Lys-40' in alpha-tubulin on the lumenal side of microtubules. Promotes microtubule destabilization and accelerates microtubule dynamics; this activity may be independent of acetylation activity. Acetylates alpha-tubulin with a slow enzymatic rate, due to a catalytic site that is not optimized for acetyl transfer. Enters the microtubule through each end and diffuses quickly throughout the lumen of microtubules. Acetylates only long/old microtubules because of its slow acetylation rate since it does not have time to act on dynamically unstable microtubules before the enzyme is released. Required for normal sperm flagellar function. Promotes directional cell locomotion and chemotaxis, through AP2A2-dependent acetylation of alpha-tubulin at clathrin-coated pits that are concentrated at the leading edge of migrating cells. May facilitate primary cilium assembly.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that localizes to clathrin-coated pits, where it acetylates alpha tubulin on lysine 40. This process may be important in microtubule growth, for instance during chemotaxis and the formation of cilium. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Product Notes

The ATAT1 atat1 (Catalog #AAA9612246) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The C6orf134 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000 *The optimal dilutions should be determined by end user. IMPORTANT: For western blot, incubate membrane with diluted primary Abin 5% w/v milk, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween®20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATAT1 atat1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "C6orf134, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
