Related Product Information for anti-C1D antibody
C1D, also known as SUNCOR, is a nuclear DNA-binding protein that localizes to the nucleus and cytoplasm and participates in processing of the 5.8S rRNA. Expressed ubiquitously with highest expression in thyroid, salivary gland, hippocampus and medulla oblongata, C1D forms a multi-protein complex with MPP6 (M phase phosphoprotein 6) and EXOSC10 (exosome component 10). This complex is responsible, in part, for recruiting the exosome to pre-rRNA and it functions to mediate 3-5 rRNA processing. Additionally, C1D can induce transcriptional repression and apoptosis through interaction with Rev-erbalpha (V-erbA-related protein EAR-1)/TRbeta (thyroid hormone receptor beta) and p53, respectively. C1D, a 141 amino acid protein, is also implicated in DNA repair mechanisms, as well as DNA-PK (DNA-dependent protein kinase) activation.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA binding and apoptosis-inducing protein and is localized in the nucleus. It is also a Rac3-interacting protein which acts as a corepressor for the thyroid hormone receptor. This protein is thought to regulate TRAX/Translin complex formation. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. Multiple pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosome 10.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2010]

Uniprot Description

C1D: Plays a role in the recruitment of the RNA exosome complex to pre-rRNA to mediate the 3'-5' end processing of the 5.8S rRNA; this function may include MPHOSPH6. Can activate PRKDC not only in the presence of linear DNA but also in the presence of supercoiled DNA. Can induce apoptosis in a p53/TP53 dependent manner. May regulate the TRAX/TSN complex formation. Potentiates transcriptional repression by NR1D1 and THRB. Belongs to the C1D family.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator; Nucleolus; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p13-p12

Cellular Component: transcriptional repressor complex; cytoplasm; nucleolus; nucleus; nuclear exosome (RNase complex)

Molecular Function: ligand-dependent nuclear receptor binding; protein binding; DNA binding; RNA binding; transcription corepressor activity

Biological Process: maturation of 5.8S rRNA; transcription, DNA-dependent; apoptosis; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The C1D c1d (Catalog #AAA3011578) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The C1D Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's C1D can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IF: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the C1D c1d for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "C1D, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
