Related Product Information for anti-BMP10 antibody
Bone Morphogenic Protein 10 is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. In mouse heart, BMP-10 expression is localized to the trabeculated part of the common ventricular chamber and to the bulbus cordis region, the atrial wall and in the adult right atrium. BMP-10 has recently been implicated in postnatal cardiac hypertrophy.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TGF-beta family of growth factors. Data suggest that the similar protein in mouse plays an important role in trabeculation of the embryonic heart. In human, this protein may signal through receptor serine/threonine kinases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

BMP10: Required for maintaining the proliferative activity of embryonic cardiomyocytes by preventing premature activation of the negative cell cycle regulator CDKN1C/p57KIP and maintaining the required expression levels of cardiogenic factors such as MEF2C and NKX2-5. Acts as a ligand for ACVRL1/ALK1, BMPR1A/ALK3 and BMPR1B/ALK6, leading to activation of SMAD1, SMAD5 and SMAD8 transcription factors. Inhibits endothelial cell migration and growth. Belongs to the TGF-beta family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p13.3

Cellular Component: extracellular space; cell surface; cytoplasm; extracellular region; Z disc

Molecular Function: receptor serine/threonine kinase binding; protein binding; telethonin binding; growth factor activity; hormone activity; cytokine activity; transforming growth factor beta receptor binding

Biological Process: adult heart development; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; atrial cardiac muscle morphogenesis; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; ventricular cardiac muscle cell development; activin receptor signaling pathway; cardiac muscle cell proliferation; sarcomere organization; regulation of apoptosis; BMP signaling pathway; regulation of MAPKKK cascade; ventricular cardiac muscle morphogenesis; negative regulation of cell growth; cell adhesion; negative regulation of cell migration; positive regulation of cardiac muscle cell proliferation

Product Notes

The BMP10 bmp10 (Catalog #AAA243771) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human BMP10 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BMP10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (10 ug/ml), WB (1:1000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BMP10 bmp10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BMP10, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
