Related Product Information for anti-BMP10 antibody
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) control the development of diverse tissues during embryogenesis. Bone morphogenetic protein-10 (BMP10), a novel member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family, has been indicated as a possible tumour suppressor in prostate and breast cancer. Hypertension induced expression of prohypertrophic BMP10, and the hypertrophic effect of BMP10 was modulated, at least in part, by its binding to Tcap at the Z disc. Expression of BMP10 protein is reduced in cancer cells of bladder tumours. Overexpression of BMP10 has an inhibitory effect on the growth, adhesion, and migration of bladder cancer cells in vitro. This would suggest a potential tumour suppressor role of BMP10 in bladder cancer. Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)9 and BMP10 are high affinity ligands for activin receptor-like kinase 1 (ALK1), a type I BMP receptor mainly expressed on vascular endothelial cells (ECs). ALK1-mediated BMP9/BMP10 signalling pathways have emerged as essential in EC biology and angiogenesis.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TGF-beta family of growth factors. Data suggest that the similar protein in mouse plays an important role in trabeculation of the embryonic heart. In human, this protein may signal through receptor serine/threonine kinases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

BMP10: Required for maintaining the proliferative activity of embryonic cardiomyocytes by preventing premature activation of the negative cell cycle regulator CDKN1C/p57KIP and maintaining the required expression levels of cardiogenic factors such as MEF2C and NKX2-5. Acts as a ligand for ACVRL1/ALK1, BMPR1A/ALK3 and BMPR1B/ALK6, leading to activation of SMAD1, SMAD5 and SMAD8 transcription factors. Inhibits endothelial cell migration and growth. Belongs to the TGF-beta family.

Product Notes

The BMP10 bmp10 (Catalog #AAA8103391) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-BMP10 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BMP10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). IHC-P: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BMP10 bmp10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BMP10, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
