Rabbit anti-Human BCAN Polyclonal Antibody | anti-BCAN antibody
BCAN, CT (BCAN, BEHAB, CSPG7, Brevican core protein, Brain-enriched hyaluronan-binding protein, Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 7)
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000
Western Blot: 1:100-500
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100
Flow Cytometry: 1:10-50
Western Blot (WB)
(Western Blot analysis in CEM cell line lysates (35ug/lane) using MBS642278. This demonstrates that MBS642278 detected the BCAN protein (arrow).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human brain tissue using MBS642278 followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of MBS642278 for immunohistochemistry.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(Flow Cytometry analysis of CEM cells using MBS642278 (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the lectican family of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans that is specifically expressed in the central nervous system. This protein is developmentally regulated and may function in the formation of the brain extracellular matrix. This protein is highly expressed in gliomas and may promote the growth and cell motility of brain tumor cells. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]
Uniprot Description
BCAN: May play a role in the terminally differentiating and the adult nervous system during postnatal development. Could stabilize interactions between hyaluronan (HA) and brain proteoglycans. Belongs to the aggrecan/versican proteoglycan family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The BCAN bcan (Catalog #AAA642278) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BCAN, CT (BCAN, BEHAB, CSPG7, Brevican core protein, Brain-enriched hyaluronan-binding protein, Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 7) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BCAN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100 Flow Cytometry: 1:10-50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BCAN bcan for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BCAN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
