Rabbit anti-Human ATG12 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-ATG12 antibody
ATG12, NT (ATG12, APG12, APG12L, Ubiquitin-like protein ATG12, Autophagy-related protein 12) (MaxLight 490)
FLISA: 1:1,000
WB: 1:100
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Fluorescent image of U251 cells stained with ATG12 (N-term) antibody. U251 cells were treated with Chloroquine (50 uM,16h), then fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.2%, 30 min). Cells were then incubated with AP1816a ATG12 (N-term) primary antibody (1:200, 2 h at room temperature). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:1000, 1h). Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst 33342 (blue) (10 ug/ml, 5 min). ATG12 immunoreactivity is localized to autophagic vacuoles in the cytoplasm of U251 cells.)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of anti-APG12L Pab in Hela cell lysate. APG12L (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with the primary antibody, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma; HC = hepatocarcinoma.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma tissue reacted with Autophagy APG12L antibody (N-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Autophagy is a process of bulk protein degradation in which cytoplasmic components, including organelles, are enclosed in double-membrane structures called autophagosomes and delivered to lysosomes or vacuoles for degradation. ATG12 is the human homolog of a yeast protein involved in autophagy (Mizushima et al., 1998 [PubMed 9852036]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Uniprot Description
ATG12: Ubiquitin-like protein required for autophagy. Conjugated to ATG3 and ATG5. Ubiquitous. Belongs to the ATG12 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Autophagy; Ubiquitin-like modifier
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q21-q22
Cellular Component: pre-autophagosomal structure membrane
Molecular Function: protein binding; APG8 conjugating enzyme activity
Biological Process: mitochondrion degradation; innate immune response; C-terminal protein lipidation; negative regulation of interferon type I production; cellular response to nitrogen starvation; autophagic vacuole formation

Product Notes
The ATG12 atg12 (Catalog #AAA6275958) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ATG12, NT (ATG12, APG12, APG12L, Ubiquitin-like protein ATG12, Autophagy-related protein 12) (MaxLight 490) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ATG12 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:50-100 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATG12 atg12 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATG12, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
