Related Product Information for anti-ASAP2 antibody
DDEF2 (ADP ribosylation factor [ARF]- GTPase-activating protein [GAP] containing SH3, ANK repeats, and PH domain, PAP, PAG3, AMAP1, ZG14P, centaurin beta4) is a phospholipid-dependent ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) GTPase-activating protein (ARF-GAP) that binds to protein-tyrosine kinases Src and focal adhesion kinase. ARF family GTP-binding proteins are regulators of membrane traffic and cytoskeletal organization. Modulation of ARF activity by DDEF2 is important for the regulation of focal adhesion assembly and/or organization by influencing the mechanisms responsible for the recruitment and organization of focal adhesion proteins paxillin and FAK. In spreading platelets, most endogenous DDEF2 is localized at peripheral focal adhesions. Pyk2 directly phosphorylates DDEF2 on tyrosine-308 and -782, and this event affects the phosphoinositide binding profile of DDEF2. DDEF2 is phosphorylated on tyrosine residues in cells expressing activated Src and tyrosine phosphorylation depends on a proline-rich class II Src SH3 binding site.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a multidomain protein containing an N-terminal alpha-helical region with a coiled-coil motif, followed by a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, an Arf-GAP domain, an ankyrin homology region, a proline-rich region, and a C-terminal Src homology 3 (SH3) domain. The protein localizes in the Golgi apparatus and at the plasma membrane, where it colocalizes with protein tyrosine kinase 2-beta (PYK2). The encoded protein forms a stable complex with PYK2 in vivo. This interaction appears to be mediated by binding of its SH3 domain to the C-terminal proline-rich domain of PYK2. The encoded protein is tyrosine phosphorylated by activated PYK2. It has catalytic activity for class I and II ArfGAPs in vitro, and can bind the class III Arf ARF6 without immediate GAP activity. The encoded protein is believed to function as an ARF GAP that controls ARF-mediated vesicle budding when recruited to Golgi membranes. In addition, it functions as a substrate and downstream target for PYK2 and SRC, a pathway that may be involved in the regulation of vesicular transport. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

Product Notes

The ASAP2 asap2 (Catalog #AAA3007024) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ASAP2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ASAP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ASAP2 asap2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ASAP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
