NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a basic helix-loop-helix protein that forms a heterodimer with CLOCK. This complex binds an E-box upstream of the PER1 gene, activating this gene and possibly other circadian rhythym-associated genes. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

BMAL1: aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein. A circadian regulatory protein and substrate of casein kinase I epsilon. Heterodimers bind to an E-box element (3'-CACGTG-5'), thereby activating transcription of PER1, and possibly of other circadian clock proteins. Seven splice isoforms have been reported.

Protein type: Transcription factor; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15

Cellular Component: transcription factor complex; PML body; nucleus

Molecular Function: signal transducer activity; protein binding; DNA binding; aryl hydrocarbon receptor binding; protein heterodimerization activity; sequence-specific DNA binding; bHLH transcription factor binding; Hsp90 protein binding

Biological Process: circadian rhythm; transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; negative regulation of TOR signaling pathway; regulation of cell cycle; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; response to redox state; positive regulation of circadian rhythm; negative regulation of fat cell differentiation; signal transduction; regulation of neurogenesis; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; protein import into nucleus, translocation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of protein catabolic process; spermatogenesis; circadian regulation of gene expression; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; regulation of hair cycle; regulation of insulin secretion

Product Notes

The ARNTL arntl (Catalog #AAA623106) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Nuclear Translocator-like (ARNTL, BMAL1, BMAL1C, JAP3, MGC47515, MOP3, PASD3, TIC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Nuclear Translocator-like can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 1:8000 Western Blot: 0.3-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARNTL arntl for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Nuclear Translocator-like, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
