NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
RICH1 is a GTPase-activating protein (GAP). GAPs stimulate the intrinsic GTP hydrolysis of small G proteins, such as RHOA (MIM 165390), RAC1 (MIM 602048), and CDC42 (MIM 116952).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2004]
Uniprot Description
ARHGAP17: Rho GTPase-activating protein involved in the maintenance of tight junction by regulating the activity of CDC42, thereby playing a central role in apical polarity of epithelial cells. Specifically acts as a GTPase activator for the CDC42 GTPase by converting it to an inactive GDP-bound state. The complex formed with AMOT acts by regulating the uptake of polarity proteins at tight junctions, possibly by deciding whether tight junction transmembrane proteins are recycled back to the plasma membrane or sent elsewhere. Participates in the Ca(2+)-dependent regulation of exocytosis, possibly by catalyzing GTPase activity of Rho family proteins and by inducing the reorganization of the cortical actin filaments. Acts as a GTPase activitor in vitro for RAC1. 7 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The ARHGAP17 arhgap17 (Catalog #AAA6274855) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ARHGAP17, NT (ARHGAP17, RICH1, Rho GTPase-activating protein 17, Rho-type GTPase-activating protein 17, RhoGAP interacting with CIP4 homologs protein 1) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ARHGAP17 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). FC/FACS: 1:10-50 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARHGAP17 arhgap17 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ARHGAP17, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
