Rabbit anti-Human Aquaporin 10 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-AQP10 antibody
Anti-Aquaporin 10 antibody
Background: AQP10 was identified in human small intestine. This gene encoded a 264-amino-acid protein with high sequence identity with AQP3(53%), 9(52%), and 7(43%). These AQPs constitute one subfamily of AQP family that is differentiated from the other subfamily of AQP(AQP0, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8) by sequence homology. Northern blot analysis revealed expression of a 2.3-kb AQP10 transcript in jejunum but not liver. RNase protection analysis detected nearly exclusive expression in duodenum and jejunum. In situ hybridization analysis demonstrated highest expression of AQP10 in absorptive epithelial cells at the tips of villi in the jejunum. SDS-PAGE analysis showed expression of a 28-kD AQP10 protein, similar to its predicted size as well as to that of the other AQPs. Functional analysis indicated that cells expressing AQP10 are permeable to relatively low amounts of water, but, unlike AQP3, AQP7, and AQP9, are not permeable to urea or glycerol.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the aquaglyceroporin family of integral membrane proteins. Members of this family function as water-permeable channels in the epithelia of organs that absorb and excrete water. This protein was shown to function as a water-selective channel, and could also permeate neutral solutes such as glycerol and urea. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
AQP10: Water channel required to promote glycerol permeability and water transport across cell membranes. May contribute to water transport in the upper portion of small intestine. Isoform 2 is not permeable to urea and glycerol. Belongs to the MIP/aquaporin (TC 1.A.8) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The AQP10 aqp10 (Catalog #AAA176225) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Aquaporin 10 antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Aquaporin 10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AQP10 aqp10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aquaporin 10, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
