NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Apoliprotein (apo) A-IV gene contains 3 exons separated by two introns. A sequence polymorphism has been identified in the 3'UTR of the third exon. The primary translation product is a 396-residue preprotein which after proteolytic processing is secreted its primary site of synthesis, the intestine, in association with chylomicron particles. Although its precise function is not known, apo A-IV is a potent activator of lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase in vitro. [provided by RefSeq]
Uniprot Description
APOA4: May have a role in chylomicrons and VLDL secretion and catabolism. Required for efficient activation of lipoprotein lipase by ApoC-II; potent activator of LCAT. Apoa-IV is a major component of HDL and chylomicrons. Synthesized primarily in the intestine and secreted in plasma. Belongs to the apolipoprotein A1/A4/E family.

Product Notes
The APOA4 apoa4 (Catalog #AAA627239) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Apolipoprotein A-IV (APOA4, MGC142154, MGC142156) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Apolipoprotein A-IV can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Peptide ELISA: 1:32,000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments in Mouse and Rat Liver lysates gave no specific signal but low background (at antibody concentration up to 1µg/ml). Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APOA4 apoa4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Apolipoprotein A-IV, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
