NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the serpin family of serine protease inhibitors. The protein is a major inhibitor of plasmin, which degrades fibrin and various other proteins. Consequently, the proper function of this gene has a major role in regulating the blood clotting pathway. Mutations in this gene result in alpha-2-plasmin inhibitor deficiency, which is characterized by severe hemorrhagic diathesis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]
Uniprot Description
SERPINF2: Serine protease inhibitor. The major targets of this inhibitor are plasmin and trypsin, but it also inactivates matriptase-3/TMPRSS7 and chymotrypsin. Defects in SERPINF2 are the cause of alpha-2-plasmin inhibitor deficiency (APLID). APLID is an autosomal recessive disorder resulting in severe hemorrhagic diathesis. Belongs to the serpin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The SERPINF2 serpinf2 (Catalog #AAA614826) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Antiplasmin, alpha2 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. Suitable for use as a source of goat antibodies to human alpha2AP., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SERPINF2 serpinf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Antiplasmin, alpha2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
