Related Product Information for anti-ANKLE2 antibody
Ankyrins are membrane adaptor molecules that play important roles in coupling integral membrane proteins to the spectrin-based cytoskeleton network. Mutations of ankyrin genes lead to severe genetic diseases such as fatal cardiac arrhythmias and hereditary spherocytosis. ANKLE2 (ankyrin repeat and LEM domain containing 2), also known as LEMD7, is a 938 amino acid single-pass membrane protein containing an ANK repeat and a LEM domain. Exsiting as two isoforms produced by alternative splicing events, the gene encoding ANKLE2 maps to human chromosome 12, which encodes over 1,100 genes and comprises approximately 4.5% of the human genome. Chromosome 12 is associated with a variety of diseases and afflictions, including hypochondrogenesis, achondrogenesis, Kniest dysplasia, Noonan syndrome and trisomy 12p, which causes facial developmental defects and seizure disorders.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the LEM family of inner nuclear membrane proteins. The encoded protein functions as a mitotic regulator through postmitotic formation of the nuclear envelope. Mutations in this gene cause morphology defects in the nuclear envelope and BAF hyperphosphorylation. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]

Uniprot Description

ANKLE2: Involved in mitotic nuclear envelope reassembly by promoting dephosphorylation of BAF/BANF1 during mitotic exit. Coordinates the control of BAF/BANF1 dephosphorylation by inhibiting VRK1 kinase and promoting dephosphorylation of BAF/BANF1 by protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), thereby facilitating nuclear envelope assembly. It is unclear whether it acts as a real PP2A regulatory subunit or whether it is involved in recruitment of the PP2A complex. Belongs to the ANKLE2 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The ANKLE2 ankle2 (Catalog #AAA3005816) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ANKLE2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Cow, Horse, Rabbit, Sheep and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ANKLE2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ANKLE2 ankle2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ANKLE2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
