NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Angiomotin is a protein that binds angiostatin, a circulating inhibitor of the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). Angiomotin mediates angiostatin inhibition of endothelial cell migration and tube formation in vitro. The protein encoded by this gene is related to angiomotin and is a member of the motin protein family. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene. Uniprot Description
AMOTL2: Regulates the translocation of phosphorylated SRC to peripheral cell-matrix adhesion sites. Required for proper architecture of actin filaments. Inhibits the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway, probably by recruiting CTNNB1 to recycling endosomes and hence preventing its translocation to the nucleus. Participates in angiogenesis. May play a role in the polarity, proliferation and migration of endothelial cells. Selectively promotes FGF-induced MAPK activation through SRC. Belongs to the angiomotin family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Cell adhesion
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q22.2
Cellular Component: apical plasma membrane; bicellular tight junction; cytosol; recycling endosome
Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein binding
Biological Process: Wnt signaling pathway

Product Notes
The AMOTL2 amotl2 (Catalog #AAA6462670) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AMOTL2, ID (Leman Coiled-coil Protein, LCCP, Angiomotin-like Protein 2, KIAA0989) (FITC) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AMOTL2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FLISA, Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AMOTL2 amotl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AMOTL2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
