ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000
Immunogen
A synthesized peptide derived from human ALX1.
Conjugation
Unconjugated
Similarity
The OAR motif may negatively regulate DNA-binding and therefore transcriptional activity. It is found in the C-terminal transactivation domain that stimulates transcription. Belongs to the paired homeobox family.
Post Translational Modifications
Acetylated at Lys-131 by EP300; increases interaction with EP300 and stimulates ALX1 transcriptional activity.
Subunit Structure
Binds DNA as a homodimer; required for transcriptional activation. Interacts (via homeobox domain) with EP300; acetylates ALX1 and stimulates its transcriptional activity.
Tissue Specificity
Cartilage and cervix tissue.
Function
Sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor that binds palindromic sequences within promoters and may activate or repress the transcription of a subset of genes. Most probably regulates the expression of genes involved in the development of mesenchyme-derived craniofacial structures. Early on in development, it plays a role in forebrain mesenchyme survival. May also induce epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) through the expression of SNAI1.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.

NCBI Description

The specific function of this gene has yet to be determined in humans; however, in rodents, it is necessary for survival of the forebrain mesenchyme and may also be involved in development of the cervix. Mutations in the mouse gene lead to neural tube defects such as acrania and meroanencephaly. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor that binds palindromic sequences within promoters and may activate or repress the transcription of a subset of genes (PubMed:9753625, PubMed:8756334). Most probably regulates the expression of genes involved in the development of mesenchyme-derived craniofacial structures. Early on in development, it plays a role in forebrain mesenchyme survival (PubMed:20451171). May also induce epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) through the expression of SNAI1 (PubMed:23288509).

Product Notes

The ALX1 alx1 (Catalog #AAA9630812) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ALX1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ALX1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA)(peptide). ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ALX1 alx1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ALX1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
