Purity
Hyperimmune antisera with strong precipitating activity are selected for fractionation by salt-precipitation and purification of the IgG (7S) fraction by DEAE-chromatography.
Synonyms
albumin; Polyclonal Antibody; Goat anti Human albumin; conjugated with Biotin; anti-ALB antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Goat

Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
The defined antibody specificity is directed to albumin as tested against human sera. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony), using various antiserum concentrations against appropriate concentrations of the immunogen, a single characteristic precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin lines obtained against human serum and the purified albumin.
Purity/Purification
Hyperimmune antisera with strong precipitating activity are selected for fractionation by salt-precipitation and purification of the IgG (7S) fraction by DEAE-chromatography.
Form/Format
Purified hyperimmune goat IgG lyophilized from a solution in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2).
Applicable Applications for anti-ALB antibody
ELISA (EIA), Immunocytochemistry (IHC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Dot Blot (DB), Immunoblotting (IB)
Conjugation
Biotin
Immunogen
Albumin is a stable small polypeptide with a strong antigenicity. Its molecular weight is about 69,000. It has a high mobility in electrophoresis, shows macro-heterogeneity especially under pathological conditions and it can bind a large number of physiological and non-physiologica! molecules. Albumin is isolated from human serum by sequential precipitation and purified by ion exchange chromatography and affinity chromatography. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Adsorption
Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required, to eliminate antibodies reacting with other serum proteins. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of excess adsorbent protein or immune complexes in the antiserum.
Physicochemical characteristics
IgG protein concentration 7.5 mg/ml. Biotin/lgG protein molar ratio (B/P) approximately 5.7. No foreign proteins added.
Marker
N-Hydroxysuccinimidobiotin
Handling
The lyophilized immunoconjugate is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4 degree C; prolonged storage at or below -20 degree C. It is reconstituted by adding 1 ml sterile distilled water, spun down to remove insoluble particles, divided into small aliquots, frozen and stored at or below -20 degree C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4 degree C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the product.
Caution
This immunoconjugate should be handled by qualified persons only and appropriate precautions should be taken in its handling and disposal, and of all associated materials. For in vitro laboratory research purposes only.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized at +4 Degree C = at least 10 years
reconstituted at or below -20 Degree C = 3-5 years
reconstituted at +4 Degree C = 7 days
Related Product Information for anti-ALB antibody
In immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical use for the detection of albumin at the cellular and subcellular level by staining of appropriately treated cell and tissue substrates; in non-isotopic assay methodology (e.g. ELISA) to measure albumin in human serum or other body fluids. As a second step an avidin or streptavidin conjugate of the user's choice has to be used.

This immunoconjugate is not pre-diluted. The optimum working dilution of each conjugate should be established by titration before being used. Excess labelled antibody must be avoided because it may cause high unspecific background staining and interfere with the specific signal.

Working dilutions for histochemical and cytochemical use are usually between 1: 1 00 and 1: 500; in ELISA and comparable non-precipitating antibody-binding assays between 1 :5,000 and 1 :50,000.

NCBI Description

Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein which comprises about one-half of the blood serum protein. Albumin functions primarily as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones and plays a role in stabilizing extracellular fluid volume. Albumin is a globular unglycosylated serum protein of molecular weight 65,000. Albumin is synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin which has an N-terminal peptide that is removed before the nascent protein is released from the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The product, proalbumin, is in turn cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to produce the secreted albumin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

albumin: Serum albumin, the main protein of plasma, has a good binding capacity for water, Ca(2+), Na(+), K(+), fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin and drugs. Its main function is the regulation of the colloidal osmotic pressure of blood. Major zinc transporter in plasma, typically binds about 80% of all plasma zinc. Plasma. Belongs to the ALB/AFP/VDB family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The ALB alb (Catalog #AAA573594) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti Human albumin, conjugated with Biotin reacts with Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to mammalian serum proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. The degree of crossreactivity is also dependent on the concentrations of and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's albumin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunocytochemistry (IHC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Dot Blot (DB), Immunoblotting (IB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ALB alb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "albumin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
