Related Product Information for anti-AKAP3 antibody
The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins, which have the common function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell. This gene encodes a member of the AKAP family. The encoded protein is located in the nucleus during interphase and is distinctly redistributed during mitosis. This protein has a cell cycle-dependent interaction with the RII subunit of PKA.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of A-kinase anchoring proteins (AKAPs), a family of functionally related proteins that target protein kinase A to discrete locations within the cell. The encoded protein is reported to participate in protein-protein interactions with the R-subunit of the protein kinase A as well as sperm-associated proteins. This protein is expressed in spermatozoa and localized to the acrosomal region of the sperm head as well as the length of the principal piece. It may function as a regulator of motility, capacitation, and the acrosome reaction. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

Uniprot Description

AKAP3: May function as a regulator of both motility- and head- associated functions such as capacitation and the acrosome reaction. Belongs to the AKAP110 family.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold; Cancer Testis Antigen (CTA)

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12p13.3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; acrosome; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; protein kinase A binding

Biological Process: protein localization; single fertilization; acrosome reaction; transmembrane receptor protein serine/threonine kinase signaling pathway; cell motility

Product Notes

The AKAP3 akap3 (Catalog #AAA629576) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AKAP 95 (A Kinase Protein 8, AKAP8, AKAP-8, A Kinase (PRKA) Anchor Protein 8, AKAP95, A Kinase (PRKA) Anchor Protein 95kD) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AKAP 95 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 1:32000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AKAP3 akap3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AKAP 95, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
