NCBI Description

This gene is apparently required for both cerebellar and cortical development in humans. This gene mutations cause specific forms of Joubert syndrome-related disorders. Joubert syndrome (JS) is a recessively inherited developmental brain disorder with several identified causative chromosomal loci. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Uniprot Description

AHI1: is up-regulated at all stages of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Down-regulated during early differentiation of normal hematopoietic cells. The AHI-1 gene is activated by insertional mutagenesis in mouse models of leukemia. Important for cerebellar and cortical development, and axonal decussation. Mutations of the AHI-1 gene are associated with Joubert syndrome. Highly expressed in the most primitive normal hematopoietic cells. Expressed in brain, particularly in neurons that give rise to the crossing axons of the corticospinal tract and superior cerebellar peduncles. Genetic analysis indicates that it is important in the development of human-specific motor behaviors. Three alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The AHI1 ahi1 (Catalog #AAA2542769) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AHI1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AHI1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:2000-5000 IHC: 1:25-100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AHI1 ahi1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AHI1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
