NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the family of adenosine receptors, which are G-protein-coupled receptors that are involved in a variety of intracellular signaling pathways and physiological functions. The receptor encoded by this gene mediates a sustained cardioprotective function during cardiac ischemia, it is involved in the inhibition of neutrophil degranulation in neutrophil-mediated tissue injury, it has been implicated in both neuroprotective and neurodegenerative effects, and it may also mediate both cell proliferation and cell death. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ADORA3: Receptor for adenosine. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which inhibits adenylyl cyclase. Possible role in reproduction. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p13.2

Cellular Component: mast cell granule; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: adenosine receptor activity, G-protein coupled

Biological Process: positive regulation of phosphoinositide 3-kinase cascade; histamine secretion by mast cell; positive regulation of leukocyte migration; adenylate cyclase activation; response to wounding; positive regulation of mast cell degranulation; positive regulation of calcium-mediated signaling; inflammatory response; signal transduction; adenosine receptor signaling pathway; regulation of heart contraction; positive regulation of inflammatory response

Product Notes

The ADORA3 adora3 (Catalog #AAA7121767) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ADORA3 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ADORA3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:100-1:300 IF: 1:200-1:1000 ELISA: 1:5000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ADORA3 adora3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ADORA3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
