Related Product Information for anti-ADCY10 antibody
Function: Catalyzes the formation of the signaling molecule cAMP (PubMed:12609998, PubMed:15659711, PubMed:24616449, PubMed:25040695, PubMed:24567411). May function as sensor that mediates responses to changes in cellular bicarbonate and CO(2) levels (PubMed:15659711, PubMed:17591988). Has a critical role in mammalian spermatogenesis by producing the cAMP which regulates cAMP-responsive nuclear factors indispensable for sperm maturation in the epididymis. Induces capacitation, the maturational process that sperm undergo prior to fertilization (By similarity). Involved in ciliary beat regulation (PubMed:17591988).

Post Translational Modifications: Cleavage may occur to generate the active 48 kDa form.

Subcellular Location: Cell membrane>Peripheral membrane protein>Cytoplasmic side. Cytoplasm>Cytoskeleton. Cytoplasm>Perinuclear region. Nucleus. Cell projection>Cilium. Cytoplasm. Mitochondrion. Note: Distributed to subcellular compartments containing cAMP targets. Found as a plasma membrane-associated protein, protein concentrated in the perinuclear region and protein colocalized with actin or tubulin.

Tissue Specificity: Detected in airway epithelial cells and testis (at protein level) (PubMed:17591988). Weakly expressed in multiple tissues. Expressed in brain, heart, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, peripheral blood leukocytes, placenta, skeletal muscle, stomach, thymus, airway epithelial cells, duodenum, jejunum and ileum. Very low level of expression in bone.

Similarity: The N-terminal guanylate cyclase domains are required for enzyme activity. Fragments or isoforms containing the first 470 amino acid residues are fully active.Belongs to the adenylyl cyclase class-4/guanylyl cyclase family.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a distinct class of adenylyl cyclases that is soluble and insensitive to G protein or forskolin regulation. Activity of this protein is regulated by bicarbonate. Variation at this gene has been observed in patients with absorptive hypercalciuria. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been observed. There is a pseudogene of this gene on chromosome 6. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Uniprot Description

SAC: Soluble adenylyl cyclase that has a critical role in mammalian spermatogenesis. Produces the cAMP which mediates in part the cAMP-responsive nuclear factors indispensable for maturation of sperm in the epididymis. Induces capacitation, the maturational process that sperm undergo prior to fertilization. May be the bicarbonate sensor. Involved in ciliary beat regulation. Genetic variations in ADCY10 are a cause of susceptibility to hypercalciuria absorptive type 2 (HCA2). Absorptive hypercalciuria is a common type of hypercalciuria, a condition characterized by excessive urinary calcium excretion. Absorptive hypercalciuria is due to gastrointestinal hyperabsorption of calcium and is a frequent cause of calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis. Belongs to the adenylyl cyclase class-4/guanylyl cyclase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The ADCY10 adcy10 (Catalog #AAA9612359) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ADCY10 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat Predicted Reactivity: Pig(88%), Bovine(88%), Sheep(88%), Rabbit(88%), Dog(88%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ADCY10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IF: 1:100-1:500 ICC: 1:100-1:500 IHC: 1:50-1:200 ELISA(peptide): 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ADCY10 adcy10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ADCY10, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
