Related Product Information for anti-ARPC2 antibody
ARPC2 is one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. The Arp2/3 protein complex has been implicated in the control of actin polymerization in cells and has been conserved through evolution. The exact role of ARPC2, the p34 subunit, has yet to be determined. Two alternatively spliced variants have been characterized to date. Additional alternatively spliced variants have been described but their full length nature has not been determined.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. The Arp2/3 protein complex has been implicated in the control of actin polymerization in cells and has been conserved through evolution. The exact role of the protein encoded by this gene, the p34 subunit, has yet to be determined. Two alternatively spliced variants have been characterized to date. Additional alternatively spliced variants have been described but their full length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ARPC2: Functions as actin-binding component of the Arp2/3 complex which is involved in regulation of actin polymerization and together with an activating nucleation-promoting factor (NPF) mediates the formation of branched actin networks. Seems to contact the mother actin filament. Belongs to the ARPC2 family.

Protein type: Actin-binding; Cytoskeletal; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q36.1

Cellular Component: actin cytoskeleton; Arp2/3 protein complex; cytoplasm; cytosol; endosome; focal adhesion; Golgi apparatus; leading edge; neuron projection; synapse

Molecular Function: actin filament binding; protein binding; structural constituent of cytoskeleton

Biological Process: axon guidance; cell motility; ephrin receptor signaling pathway; innate immune response; small GTPase mediated signal transduction

Product Notes

The ARPC2 arpc2 (Catalog #AAA715992) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti-human Actin-related protein 2/3 complex subunit 2 polyclonal Antibody, HRP conjugated reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Actin-related protein 2/3 complex subunit 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARPC2 arpc2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Actin-related protein 2/3 complex subunit 2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
