Rabbit ACAT1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-ACAT1 antibody
Anti-ACAT1 Antibody
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of ACAT1 expression in HeLa (A), HEK293T (B), SP2/0 (C), H9C2 (D), THP1 (E) whole cell lysates.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemical analysis of ACAT1 staining in human lung cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a mitochondrially localized enzyme that catalyzes the reversible formation of acetoacetyl-CoA from two molecules of acetyl-CoA. Defects in this gene are associated with 3-ketothiolase deficiency, an inborn error of isoleucine catabolism characterized by urinary excretion of 2-methyl-3-hydroxybutyric acid, 2-methylacetoacetic acid, tiglylglycine, and butanone. Uniprot Description
ACAT1: Plays a major role in ketone body metabolism. Defects in ACAT1 are a cause of 3-ketothiolase deficiency (3KTD); also known as alpha- methylacetoaceticaciduria. 3KTD is an inborn error of isoleucine catabolism characterized by intermittent ketoacidotic attacks associated with unconsciousness. Some patients die during an attack or are mentally retarded. Urinary excretion of 2-methyl-3- hydroxybutyric acid, 2-methylacetoacetic acid, triglylglycine, butanone is increased. It seems likely that the severity of this disease correlates better with the environmental or acquired factors than with the ACAT1 genotype. Belongs to the thiolase family.

Product Notes
The ACAT1 acat1 (Catalog #AAA821380) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ACAT1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ACAT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IH (1/100 - 1/200), IP (1/10 - 1/100). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACAT1 acat1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ACAT1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
