Related Product Information for PKI-beta recombinant protein
cAMP-Dependent Protein Kinase Inhibitor beta (PKI-beta) is a member of the PKI family. As a member of the cAMP-dependent protein kinase inhibitor family, It has been shown that PKI-beta is an extremely potent competitive inhibitor of cAMP-dependent protein kinase activity; this protein interacts with the catalytic subunit of the enzyme after the cAMP-induced dissociation of its regulatory chains. It may play a role in the protein kinase A (PKA) pathway by interacting with the catalytic subunit of PKA, and overexpression of this gene may play a role in prostate cancer.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the cAMP-dependent protein kinase inhibitor family. The encoded protein may play a role in the protein kinase A (PKA) pathway by interacting with the catalytic subunit of PKA, and overexpression of this gene may play a role in prostate cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

Extremely potent competitive inhibitor of cAMP-dependent protein kinase activity, this protein interacts with the catalytic subunit of the enzyme after the cAMP-induced dissociation of its regulatory chains.

Product Notes

The PKI-beta pkib (Catalog #AAA2552423) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Met1-Lys78. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "cAMP-dependent Protein Kinase Inhibitor beta/PKI-beta, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
