Canine Protein Kinase C Delta ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: PKCD ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-PKCD antibody and an PKCD-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with PKCD-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the PKCD concentration since PKCD from samples and PKCD-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-PKCD antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by PKCD from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind PKCD-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The PKCD concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases that can be activated by calcium and the second messenger diacylglycerol. PKC family members phosphorylate a wide variety of protein targets and are known to be involved in diverse cellular signaling pathways. PKC family members also serve as major receptors for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters. Each member of the PKC family has a specific expression profile and is believed to play distinct roles in cells. The protein encoded by this gene is one of the PKC family members. Studies both in human and mice demonstrate that this kinase is involved in B cell signaling and in the regulation of growth, apoptosis, and differentiation of a variety of cell types. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been observed. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
PKCD: an AGC kinase of the PKC family. A novel PKC: Ca2 independent but still regulated by PS, DAG and phorbol esters. Caspase-3 appears to liberate a sphingosine-activated catalytic fragment that has altered regulatory mechanisms and substrate specificities.

The Canine PKCd prkcd (Catalog #AAA746597) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA746597 ELISA Kit recognizes Canine PKCd. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein Kinase C Delta, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
