Related Product Information for PGAM2 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to PGAM2. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for PGAM2 and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB (3,3',5,5' tetramethyl-benzidine) substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain PGAM2, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of PGAM2 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

Phosphoglycerate mutase (PGAM) catalyzes the reversible reaction of 3-phosphoglycerate (3-PGA) to 2-phosphoglycerate (2-PGA) in the glycolytic pathway. The PGAM is a dimeric enzyme containing, in different tissues, different proportions of a slow-migrating muscle (MM) isozyme, a fast-migrating brain (BB) isozyme, and a hybrid form (MB). This gene encodes muscle-specific PGAM subunit. Mutations in this gene cause muscle phosphoglycerate mutase eficiency, also known as glycogen storage disease X. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

Function: Interconversion of 3- and 2-phosphoglycerate with 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate as the primer of the reaction. Can also catalyze the reaction of EC 5.4.2.4 (synthase) and EC 3.1.3.13 (phosphatase), but with a reduced activity.UniRule annotationHAMAP-Rule:MF_01039

Catalytic activity: 2-phospho-D-glycerate = 3-phospho-D-glycerate.UniRule annotationHAMAP-Rule:MF_01039

Product Notes

The Human PGAM2 pgam2 (Catalog #AAA703596) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA703596 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PGAM2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "phosphoglycerate mutase 2 (muscle), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
