Related Product Information for PFN2 recombinant protein
PFN2 is a ubiquitous actin monomer-binding protein belonging to the profilin family. This protein is ubiquitously expressed with highest expression in kidney, brain and skeletal muscle. Like other members of the profilin family, PFN2 functions as an actin monomer-binding protein that influences the structure of the cytoskeleton by regulating actin polymerization in response to extracellular signals. At high concentrations, it prevents the polymerization of actin whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG. Recombinant PFN2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a ubiquitous actin monomer-binding protein belonging to the profilin family. It is thought to regulate actin polymerization in response to extracellular signals. There are two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Binds to actin and affects the structure of the cytoskeleton. At high concentrations, profilin prevents the polymerization of actin, whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG.

Product Notes

The PFN2 pfn2 (Catalog #AAA203536) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's PFN2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PFN2 pfn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MAGWQSYVDN LMCDGCCQEA AIVGYCDAKY VWAATAGGVF QSITPIEIDM IVGKDREGFF TNGLALGAKK CSVIRDSLYV DGDCTMDIRT KSQGGEPTYN VAVGRAGRVL VFVMGKEGVH GGGLNKKAYS MAKYLRDSGF. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PFN2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
