Related Product Information for PEA-15 recombinant protein
Phospho-enriched protein in astrocytes 15 kDa (PEA-15) is a death effector domain (DED)-containing protein predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, particularly in astrocytes. This protein has been implicated in the regulation of multiple cellular processes including apoptosis, proliferation, glucose transport, adhesion and migration. Increased PEA-15 levels may affect tumorigenesis and cancer progression, thus it is overexpressed in breast cancers and gliomas as well as in type 2 diabetes. Recombinant human PEA-15 was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a death effector domain-containing protein that functions as a negative regulator of apoptosis. The encoded protein is an endogenous substrate for protein kinase C. This protein is also overexpressed in type 2 diabetes mellitus, where it may contribute to insulin resistance in glucose uptake. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Uniprot Description

Blocks Ras-mediated inhibition of integrin activation and modulates the ERK MAP kinase cascade. Inhibits RPS6KA3 activities by retaining it in the cytoplasm (). Inhibits both TNFRSF6- and TNFRSF1A-mediated CASP8 activity and apoptosis. Regulates glucose transport by controlling both the content of SLC2A1 glucose transporters on the plasma membrane and the insulin-dependent trafficking of SLC2A4 from the cell interior to the surface.

Product Notes

The PEA-15 pea15 (Catalog #AAA203400) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's PEA-15 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PEA-15 pea15 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MAEYGTLLQD LTNNITLEDL EQLKSACKED IPSEKSEEIT TGSAWFSFLE SHNKLDKDNL SYIEHIFEIS RRPDLLTMVV DYRTRVLKIS EEDELDTKLT RIPSAKKYKD IIRQPSEEEI IKLAPPPKKA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PEA-15, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
