Related Product Information for PDE6D recombinant protein
Description: PDE6D produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 158 amino acids (1-150 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 18.4kDa. PDE6D is fused to an 8 amino acids His Tag at C-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: Human PDE6D was initially identified as a fourth subunit of rod-specific cGMP phosphodiesterase, PDE6. PDE6D is an Oligomer composed of two catalytic chains (alpha and beta), an inhibitory chain (gamma) and the delta chain. PDE6D interacts with RPGR, ARL2 and ARL3. The catalytically active PDE6 is a heterodimer (alphabeta) that is controlled by two inhibitory gamma subunits. Since PDE6D does not change the catalytic properties of PDEalphabeta, its function is still unanswered. PDE6D is expressed specifically in the retina.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the delta subunit of rod-specific photoreceptor phosphodiesterase (PDE), a key enzyme in the phototransduction cascade. A similar protein in cow functions in solubilizing membrane-bound PDE. In addition to its role in the PDE complex, the encoded protein is thought to bind to prenyl groups of proteins to target them to subcellular organelles called cilia. Mutations in this gene are associated with Joubert syndrome-22. Alternative splicing results in multiple splice variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]

Uniprot Description

PDE6D: Acts as a GTP specific dissociation inhibitor (GDI). Increases the affinity of ARL3 for GTP by several orders of magnitude and does so by decreasing the nucleotide dissociation rate. Stabilizes Arl3-GTP by decreasing the nucleotide dissociation. Belongs to the PDE6D/unc-119 family.

Product Notes

The PDE6D pde6d (Catalog #AAA143850) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MSAKDERARE ILRGFKLNWM NLRDAETGKI LWQGTEDLSV PGVEHEARVP KKILKCKAVS RELNFSSTEQ MEKFRLEQKV YFKGQCLEEW FFEFGFVIPN STNTWQSLIE AAPESQMMPA SVLTGNVIIE TKFFDDDLLV STSRVRLFYV GSHHHHH H. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phosphodiesterase 6D cGMP-Specific Rod Delta, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
