Putative methyltransferase NSUN5 (NSUN5) Recombinant Protein | NSUN5 recombinant protein
Recombinant Human Putative methyltransferase NSUN5 (NSUN5)
NOP2
Sun domain family. The encoded protein may function as a DNA methyltransferase in the nucleus. This gene is deleted in Williams syndrome, a multisystem developmental disorder caused by the deletion of contiguous genes at 7q11.23. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of an evolutionarily conserved family of proteins that may function as methyltransferases. This gene is located in a larger region of chromosome 7 that is deleted in Williams-Beuren syndrome, a multisystem developmental disorder. There are two pseudogenes for this gene located in the same region of chromosome 7. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Uniprot Description
S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent methyltransferase that specifically methylates the C5 position of cytosine 3782 in 28S rRNA.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Putative methyltransferase NSUN5 (NSUN5), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
