NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
transmembrane protein that may be involved in cellular interactions that specify cell fate [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Notch 2: a member of the Notch family. Notch family members play a role in a variety of developmental processes by controlling cell fate decisions. The Notch signaling network is an evolutionarily conserved intercellular signaling pathway which regulates interactions between physically adjacent cells. Affects the implementation of differentiation, proliferation and apoptotic programs. Cleaved in the trans-Golgi network and presented on the cell surface as a heterodimer. This protein functions as a receptor for the membrane bound ligands Jagged1, Jagged2 and Delta1 to regulate cell-fate determination. Upon ligand activation through the released notch intracellular domain (NICD) it forms a transcriptional activator complex with RBP-J kappa and activates genes of the enhancer of split locus.

Product Notes
The Rat Notch2 notch2 (Catalog #AAA762017) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA762017 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat Notch2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
