Related Product Information for Nmnat1 recombinant protein
Nmnat1, also known as nicotinamide/nicotinic acid mononucleotide adenylyltransferase1, is a central enzyme in NAD biosynthesis, catalyzing the condensation of nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) of nicotinic acid mononucleotide (NaMN) with the AMP moiety of ATP to form NAD or NaAD. It is widely expressed with high levels in skeletal muscle, heart, liver and kidney. This protein appears to have the ability to protect against axonal degeneration following mechanical or toxic insults. Recombinant mouse Nmnat1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.

Uniprot Description

Catalyzes the formation of NAD+ from nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and ATP (PubMed:15381699). Can also use the deamidated form; nicotinic acid mononucleotide (NaMN) as substrate with the same efficiency (). Can use triazofurin monophosphate (TrMP) as substrate (). Also catalyzes the reverse reaction, i.e. the pyrophosphorolytic cleavage of NAD+ (). For the pyrophosphorolytic activity, prefers NAD+ and NaAD as substrates and degrades NADH, nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NHD) and nicotinamide guanine dinucleotide (NGD) less effectively (). Involved in the synthesis of ATP in the nucleus, together with PARP1, PARG and NUDT5 (). Nuclear ATP generation is required for extensive chromatin remodeling events that are energy-consuming (). Fails to cleave phosphorylated dinucleotides NADP+, NADPH and NaADP+ (). Protects against axonal degeneration following mechanical or toxic insults (PubMed:15310905, PubMed:16914673). Delays axonal degeneration after axotomy. Results in a >10-fold increase in intact neurites 72 hours after injury (PubMed:16914673).

Product Notes

The Nmnat1 nmnat1 (Catalog #AAA206656) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's Nmnat1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Nmnat1 nmnat1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSMDSSKKT EVVLLACGSF NPITNMHLRL FELAKDYMHA TGKYSVIKGI ISPVGDAYKK KGLIPAHHRI IMAELATKNS HWVEVDTWES LQKEWVETVK VLRYHQEKLA TGSCSYPQSS PALEKPGRKR KWADQKQDSS PQKPQEPKPT GVPKVKLLCG ITNDISSTKI RRALRRGQSI RYLVPDLVQE YIEKHELYNT ESEGRNAGVT LAPLQRNAAE AKHNHSTL. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nmnat1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
