Related Product Information for NGF elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: NGF ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-NGF antibody and an NGF-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with NGF-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the NGF concentration since NGF from samples and NGF-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-NGF antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by NGF from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind NGF-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The NGF concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the NGF-beta family and encodes a secreted protein which homodimerizes and is incorporated into a larger complex. This protein has nerve growth stimulating activity and the complex is involved in the regulation of growth and the differentiation of sympathetic and certain sensory neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, type 5 (HSAN5), and dysregulation of this gene's expression is associated with allergic rhinitis. Uniprot Description
NGF: Nerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. Extracellular ligand for the NTRK1 and NGFR receptors, activates cellular signaling cascades through those receptor tyrosine kinase to regulate neuronal proliferation, differentiation and survival. Homodimer. Belongs to the NGF-beta family.

Product Notes
The Goat NGF ngf (Catalog #
AAA736516) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA736516 ELISA Kit recognizes Goat NGF.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"Nerve Growth Factor, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
