Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the target protein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor that binds the palindromic sequence 5'-TTGGCNNNNNGCCAA-3 in viral and cellular promoters. The encoded protein can also stimulate adenovirus replication in vitro. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

Uniprot Description

NFI-X: Recognizes and binds the palindromic sequence 5'- TTGGCNNNNNGCCAA-3' present in viral and cellular promoters and in the origin of replication of adenovirus type 2. These proteins are individually capable of activating transcription and replication. Defects in NFIX are the cause of Sotos syndrome 2 (SOTOS2). A form of Sotos syndrome, a childhood overgrowth syndrome characterized by pre- and postnatal overgrowth, developmental delay, mental retardation, advanced bone age, and abnormal craniofacial morphology. SOTOS2 patients have macrocephaly, long narrow face, high forehead, slender habitus, scoliosis, and unusual behavior characterized especially by anxiety. Defects in NFIX are the cause of Marshall-Smith syndrome (MRSHSS). A distinct malformation syndrome characterized by accelerated skeletal maturation, relative failure to thrive, respiratory difficulties, mental retardation, and unusual facies, including prominent forehead, shallow orbits, blue sclerae, depressed nasal bridge, and micrognathia. Additional skeletal findings include long and thin tubular bones, broad middle phalanges with relatively narrow distal phalanges, and scoliosis. Belongs to the CTF/NF-I family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The NFIX nfix (Catalog #AAA2033302) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Nuclear Factor I/X can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NFIX nfix for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: HPFIEALL PHVRAFSYTW FNLQARKRKY FKKHEKRMSK DEERAVKDEL LGEKPEIKQK WASRLLAKLR KDIRPEFRED FVLTITGKKP PCCVLSNPDQ KGKIRRIDCL RQADKVWRLD LVMVILFKGI PLESTDGERL YKSPQCSNPG LCVQPHHIGV TIKELDLYLA YFVHTPESGQ SDSSNQQGDA DIKPLPNGHL SFQDCFVTSG VWNVTELVRV SQTPVATASG PNFSLADLES PSYYNINQVT LGRRSITSPP STSTTKRPKS IDDSEMESPV DDVFYPGT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nuclear Factor I/X, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
