NCBI Description

cellular myosin; involved in cytokinesis [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

MYH9: Cellular myosin that appears to play a role in cytokinesis, cell shape, and specialized functions such as secretion and capping. Interacts with PDLIM2. Interacts with SLC6A4. Myosin is a hexameric protein that consists of 2 heavy chain subunits (MHC), 2 alkali light chain subunits (MLC) and 2 regulatory light chain subunits (MLC-2). Interacts with RASIP1. Interacts with DDR1. Interacts with SVIL and HTRA3. In the kidney, expressed in the glomeruli. Also expressed in leukocytes. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motor; Actin-binding; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Cellular Component: protein complex; leading edge; contractile ring; phagocytic vesicle; cytosol; actin cytoskeleton; ruffle; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; stress fiber; integrin complex; nucleus; myosin complex; lateral plasma membrane; endosome; cleavage furrow

Molecular Function: microfilament motor activity; actin filament binding; calmodulin binding; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; protein anchor; follicle stimulating hormone receptor binding; ATPase activity; sodium:potassium-exchanging ATPase activity; protein kinase binding; ATP binding

Product Notes

The Rat MYH9 myh9 (Catalog #AAA9343127) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9343127 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat MYH9. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "myosin, heavy chain 9, non-muscle, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
