Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the Mx protein family of large GTPases, and functions in the innate immunity system. Interferon alpha/beta treatment or viral infection induces expression of this protein, which subsequently accumulates in the cytoplasm and inhibits viral replication. It has been shown to confer resistance to the influenza virus. This gene produces a functional protein in some feral mouse strains, whereas some inbred mouse strains including the strain of the reference genome, C57BL/6J, contain a deletion or a nonsense mutation that results in a non-functional gene product. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]

Uniprot Description

MX1: Dynamin-like GTPase acting as a cell-autonomous host restriction factor against many viral pathogens. Shows activity against influenza viruses, rhabdovirus VSV, bunyavirus LACV, Thogoto virus, measles virus, Hantaan virus, Coxsackie virus CVB, Rift Valley fever virus RVFV, hepatitis B virus HBV, and Crimean- Congo hemorrhagic fever virus CCHFV. Belongs to the dynamin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Hydrolase; Apoptosis

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: GTPase activity; protein binding; GTP binding; nucleotide binding

Biological Process: immune system process; response to virus; innate immune response; defense response to virus

Product Notes

The MX1 mx1 (Catalog #AAA2010293) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Myxovirus Resistance 1 (MX1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MX1 mx1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: The target protein is fused with two N-terminal Tags, His-tag and GST-tag, its sequence is listed below. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Myxovirus Resistance 1 (MX1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
