Uniprot Description

Cell adhesion molecule which is required for leukocyte transendothelial migration (TEM) under most inflammatory conditions (). Tyr-679 plays a critical role in TEM and is required for efficient trafficking of PECAM1 to and from the lateral border recycling compartment (LBRC) and is also essential for the LBRC membrane to be targeted around migrating leukocytes (). Trans-homophilic interaction may play a role in endothelial cell-cell adhesion via cell junctions (). Heterophilic interaction with CD177 plays a role in transendothelial migration of neutrophils (). Homophilic ligation of PECAM1 prevents macrophage-mediated phagocytosis of neighboring viable leukocytes by transmitting a detachment signal (). Promotes macrophage-mediated phagocytosis of apoptotic leukocytes by tethering them to the phagocytic cells; PECAM1-mediated detachment signal appears to be disabled in apoptotic leukocytes (). Modulates bradykinin receptor BDKRB2 activation (). Regulates bradykinin- and hyperosmotic shock-induced ERK1/2 activation in endothelial cells (). Induces susceptibility to atherosclerosis (PubMed:19048083).

Product Notes

The Pecam1 pecam1 (Catalog #AAA423790) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-Pecam1/CD31 (mouse) Antibody reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Pecam1/CD31 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Pep-ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:128000. WB: Approx 80-85kDa band observed in Mouse and Rat Spleen lysates. Recommended concentration: 0.3-1ug/ml. Primary incubation 1 hour.at room temperature. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Pecam1 pecam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Pecam1/CD31, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
