Principle of the Assay: NNAT ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-NNAT antibody and an NNAT-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with NNAT-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the NNAT concentration since NNAT from samples and NNAT-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-NNAT antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by NNAT from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind NNAT-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The NNAT concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a proteolipid that may be involved in the regulation of ion channels during brain development. The encoded protein may also play a role in forming and maintaining the structure of the nervous system. This gene is found within an intron of the BLCAP gene, but on the opposite strand. This gene is imprinted and is expressed only from the paternal allele. Two transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
Uniprot Description
NNAT: May participate in the maintenance of segment identity in the hindbrain and pituitary development, and maturation or maintenance of the overall structure of the nervous system. May function as a regulatory subunit of ion channels. Belongs to the neuronatin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q11.2-q12
Biological Process: neuron differentiation; protein lipoylation; transport; brain development

Product Notes
The Mouse NNAT nnat (Catalog #AAA7233722) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7233722 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse NNAT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neuronatin (NNAT), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
