Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for ABCB4 elisa kit
Description: This Mouse Multidrug resistance protein 3 (ABCB4) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate ABCB4 in samples. An antibody specific for ABCB4 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ABCB4 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for ABCB4 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ABCB4 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Multidrug resistance protein 3 is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MDR/TAP subfamily. Members of the MDR/TAP subfamily are involved in multidrug resistance as well as antigen presentation. This gene encodes a full transporter and member of the p-glycoprotein family of membrane proteins with phosphatidylcholine as its substrate. The function of this protein has not yet been determined; however, it may involve transport of phospholipids from liver hepatocytes into bile. Alternative splicing of this gene results in several products of undetermined function.

Uniprot Description

ABCB4: a transporter that mediates ATP-dependent export of organic anions and drugs from the cytoplasm. Hydrolyzes ATP with low efficiency. Human ABCB4 is not capable of conferring drug resistance. Mediates the translocation of phosphatidylcholine across the canalicular membrane of the hepatocyte. Interacts with HAX1. Defects are the cause of gallstones, and progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis 3, an autosomal recessive liver disorder that progresses to cirrhosis and liver failure before adulthood. Two alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Mouse ABCB4 abcb4 (Catalog #AAA9717137) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9717137 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse ABCB4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Multidrug Resistance Protein 3 (ABCB4), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
