Related Product Information for LR/Ob-R elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Mouse Androstenedione (also known as ASD) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse ASD antibody. ASD present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse ASD Antibody is added and binds to ASD in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated ASD antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse ASD. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Uniprot Description

Receptor for hormone LEP/leptin (Probable) (PubMed:22405007). On ligand binding, mediates LEP central and peripheral effects through the activation of different signaling pathways such as JAK2/STAT3 and MAPK cascade/FOS. In the hypothalamus, LEP acts as an appetite-regulating factor that induces a decrease in food intake and an increase in energy consumption by inducing anorexinogenic factors and suppressing orexigenic neuropeptides, also regulates bone mass and secretion of hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal hormones () (PubMed:9537324). In the periphery, increases basal metabolism, influences reproductive function, regulates pancreatic beta-cell function and insulin secretion, is pro-angiogenic and affects innate and adaptive immunity (PubMed:25060689, PubMed:12504075, PubMed:8805376). Control of energy homeostasis and melanocortin production (stimulation of POMC and full repression of AgRP transcription) is mediated by STAT3 signaling, whereas distinct signals regulate NPY and the control of fertility, growth and glucose homeostasis. Involved in the regulation of counter-regulatory response to hypoglycemia by inhibiting neurons of the parabrachial nucleus. Has a specific effect on T lymphocyte responses, differentially regulating the proliferation of naive and memory T -ells. Leptin increases Th1 and suppresses Th2 cytokine production ().

Product Notes

The Mouse LR/Ob-R lepr (Catalog #AAA163370) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA163370 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse LR/Ob-R. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Leptin receptor, LR/Ob-R, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
