Related Product Information for DHFR elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti- DHFR antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-DHFR antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the DHFR amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of DHFR can be calculated.

NCBI Description

key component of purine and pyrmidine biosynthesis pathway; NADPH-dependent molecule reduces dihydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

DHFR: Key enzyme in folate metabolism. Contributes to the de novo mitochondrial thymidylate biosynthesis pathway. Catalyzes an essential reaction for de novo glycine and purine synthesis, and for DNA precursor synthesis. Binds its own mRNA and that of DHFRL1. Defects in DHFR are the cause of megaloblastic anemia due to dihydrofolate reductase deficiency (DHFRD). DHFRD is an inborn error of metabolism, characterized by megaloblastic anemia and/or pancytopenia, severe cerebral folate deficiency, and cerebral tetrahydrobiopterin deficiency. Clinical features include variable neurologic symptoms, ranging from severe developmental delay and generalized seizures in infancy, to childhood absence epilepsy with learning difficulties, to lack of symptoms. Belongs to the dihydrofolate reductase family.

Product Notes

The Mouse DHFR dhfr (Catalog #AAA7606560) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7606560 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse DHFR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DHFR (Dihydrofolate reductase), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
