Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for F13B elisa kit
Description: This Mouse Coagulation Factor XIII B Polypeptide (F13B) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate F13B in samples. An antibody specific for F13B has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any F13B present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for F13B is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of F13B bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Coagulation factor XIII is the last zymogen to become activated in the blood coagulation cascade. Plasma factor XIII is a heterotetramer composed of 2 A subunits and 2 B subunits. The A subunits have catalytic function, and the B subunits do not have enzymatic activity and may serve as a plasma carrier molecules. Platelet factor XIII is comprised only of 2 A subunits, which are identical to those of plasma origin. Upon activation by the cleavage of the activation peptide by thrombin and in the presence of calcium ion, the plasma factor XIII dissociates its B subunits and yields the same active enzyme, factor XIIIa, as platelet factor XIII. This enzyme acts as a transglutaminase to catalyze the formation of gamma-glutamyl-epsilon-lysine crosslinking between fibrin molecules, thus stabilizing the fibrin clot.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes subunit B of the coagulation factor XIII that catalyzes the final step of the blood coagulation pathway. The encoded protein associates with subunit A to form a heterotetrameric protein that circulates in the plasma. During the blood coagulation process, thrombin-mediated proteolytic cleavage of the subunit A results in the dissociation of the encoded protein from the heterotetramer. Male mice lacking the encoded protein exhibit mild fibrosis together with hemosiderin deposits in the heart. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

The B chain of factor XIII is not catalytically active, but is thought to stabilize the A subunits and regulate the rate of transglutaminase formation by thrombin.

Product Notes

The Mouse F13B f13b (Catalog #AAA9718101) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9718101 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse F13B. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Coagulation Factor XIII B Polypeptide (F13B), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
