* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for CCL2 elisa kit
Description: Mouse CCL2 ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate CCL2 in samples. An antibody specific for CCL2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CCL2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CCL2 is added to the wells. After washing, proprietary Streptavidin-HRP conjugates is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound streptavidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CCL2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: CCL2 is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is also known as monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1). This chemokine is produced predominantly by macrophages and endothelial cells and is a potent chemotactic factor for monocytes as a protein precursor containing signal peptide of 23 amino acids and a mature peptide of 76 amino acids. It is a monomeric polypeptide, with a molecular weight of approximately 13kDa.CCL2 recruits monocytes, memory T cells, and dendritic cells to sites of tissue injury and infection. Expression of this proinflammatory chemokine is increased in atherosclerotic lesions, and inhibition of its expression or that of its receptor, CC chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2), reduces the extent of atheroma formation in hypercholesterolemic mice.

NCBI Description

This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on chromosome 11. Chemokines are a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes and memory T cells but not for neutrophils. The human ortholog has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis. Uniprot Description

CCL13: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Signals through CCR2B and CCR3 receptors. Plays a role in the accumulation of leukocytes at both sides of allergic and non-allergic inflammation. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis. May play a role in the monocyte attraction in tissues chronically exposed to exogenous pathogens. By IL1/interleukin-1 and TNF. Widely expressed. Found in small intestine, thymus, colon, lung, trachea, stomach and lymph node. Low levels seen in the pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The Mouse CCL2 ccl2 (Catalog #AAA9711574) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9711574 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse CCL2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CCL2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
