Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse sAPP? antibody. sAPP? present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse sAPP? Antibody is added and binds to sAPP? in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated sAPP? antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse sAPP?. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

This gene encodes a type II classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily, integral membrane proteins that mediate calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion. Mature cadherin proteins are composed of a large N-terminal extracellular domain, a single membrane-spanning domain, and a small, highly conserved C-terminal cytoplasmic domain. Type II (atypical) cadherins are defined based on their lack of a HAV cell adhesion recognition sequence specific to type I cadherins. Expression of this particular cadherin in osteoblastic cell lines, and its upregulation during differentiation, suggests a specific function in bone development and maintenance.
