Mouse Activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AICDA) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: AICDA ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-AICDA antibody and an AICDA-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with AICDA-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the AICDA concentration since AICDA from samples and AICDA-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-AICDA antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by AICDA from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind AICDA-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The AICDA concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a RNA-editing deaminase that is a member of the cytidine deaminase family. The protein is involved in somatic hypermutation, gene conversion, and class-switch recombination of immunoglobulin genes. Defects in this gene are the cause of autosomal recessive hyper-IgM immunodeficiency syndrome type 2 (HIGM2). [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Uniprot Description
AID: Single-stranded DNA-specific cytidine deaminase. Involved in somatic hypermutation, gene conversion, and class- switch recombination in B-lymphocytes. Required for several crucial steps of B-cell terminal differentiation necessary for efficient antibody responses. May also play a role in the epigenetic regulation of gene expression by participating in DNA demethylation. Strongly expressed in lymph nodes and tonsils. Belongs to the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase family.

Product Notes
The Mouse AICDA aicda (Catalog #AAA7209054) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7209054 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse AICDA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AICDA), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
